Bahraini Ambassador to KSA praises royal address

Riyadh, Sept. 25 (BNA): Bahraini Ambassador to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Shaikh Humood bin Abdullah Al Khalifa praised the address of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa to the United Nations General Assembly in its 75th session. He said the speech was characterised by clarity and reflects the Kingdom of Bahrain’s approach that stems from HM the King’s wisdom and farsighted vision for the present and future. Shaikh Humood said HM the King called on the international community to put aside differences and strengthen humanitarian solidarity in facing challenges, mainly health ones. He added HM the King underlined the need to boost readiness of all countries to confront the dangers of coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic and immunize societies from it. He noted that the royal address spotlighted many Arab and international issues and affirmed the kingdom’s commitment to its international obligations to maintain the power of the international system and its continuity. He added the royal speech also underscored the kingdom’s keenness to share with the UN its vision on boosting collective work to face dangers posed to the international organisation’s role in settling conflicts and protecting human rights. The Bahraini ambassador stressed the kingdom’s keenness on regional security and stability. He also affirmed Bahrain’s status as an active state in the international community, pointing out its commitment to its clear approach of openness and coexistence with all which led to the Declaration of Peace with the State of Israel. He note the royal address also included a praise of the courageous step of the UAE to revive the hope for peace and stability in the region by reaching a historic peace accord with the State of Israel thanks to the support and efforts of the USA. Shaikh Humood pointed out that the royal address underlined the need to exert more efforts to end the Palestinian-Israeli conflict and establish an independent Palestinian state with its capital Eastern Jerusalem. He said this is the gateway to achieve comprehensive and just peace and this is Bahrain’s unwavering and clear stance regarding the Palestinian cause. He also expressed appreciation of HM the king’s choice of the UN as a platform to laud the pioneering role of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, under the leadership of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, in promoting peace and security in the region and the whole world.
