Bahraini Embassy in Berlin marks National Days

Berlin, Dec. 13 (BNA): The Ambassador of the Kingdom of Bahrain to the Federal Republic of Germany, Abdulla Abdullatif Abdulla, and his wife held a reception at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel here to celebrate the Kingdom of Bahrain’s National Days on December 16 and 17, in commemoration of the establishment of the modern Bahraini state as an Arab and Muslim country founded by Ahmed Al-Fateh in 1783, the 48th anniversary of its full membership in the United Nations and the anniversary of His Majesty the King's Accession to the Throne.
Ambassador Abdulla delivered a speech in which he reviewed the achievements of the Kingdom of Bahrain at the economic, educational and cultural levels, as well as in the fields of women's empowerment and religious tolerance. He also hailed the continuous growth and prosperity of the relations between the two friendly countries in various fields, adding that the friendship between the two countries has existed since its inception on the basis of shared values and principles and joint work.
The Ambassador also expressed the Kingdom of Bahrain's pride in the advanced level of relations between the two countries at all levels, which are in the interest of the two friendly countries and peoples, praising the most important high-level visits between the two countries during this year and its results.
On the other hand, the Director-General for Economic Affairs and Sustainable Development at the Federal Foreign Office, Ambassador Miguel Berger, expressed in his speech his pride in the friendship that binds the two friendly countries, praising the success of the Manama Dialogue, which was attended by a high-level German delegation in addition to holding the third meeting of political consultations between the two countries in Manama. He also stressed that the Federal Republic of Germany is looking forward to further cooperation with the Kingdom of Bahrain for it has an important geographical location and the appropriate economic environment in light of the economic openness witnessed by the Kingdom.
The ceremony was attended by a large number of senior officials of the German Foreign Ministry, including the Director-General for Economic Affairs and Sustainable Development, Ambassador Miguel Berger, the Regional Director for the Middle East and North Africa, Ambassador Christian Bock, the Chief of Protocol, a number of German officials, Arab and foreign ambassadors, members of the German parliament (the Bundestag), a group of German businessmen, the press and research centers, and a number of Bahraini patients and students, to celebrate this glorious occasion.
