Bahraini-Iraqi relations lauded

Manama, Feb. 3 (BNA): Representatives Council Speaker Fawzia bint Abdullah Zainal received today Iraqi embassy Charge D'Affaires Mohammed Adnan Mahmood who conveyed to her the greetings of her Iraqi counterpart Mohammed Al Halbousi and his keenness to bolster bilateral cooperation. The Representatives Council Speaker stressed the importance of Iraq as an essential part of the Arab nation, asserting that its security and stability are part of the security and stability of the whole region. She praised outstanding relations between Bahrain and Iraq under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and Iraqi President Dr. Barham Saleh. She also underlined Bahrain's keenness to boost relations with all brotherly and friendly countries on the basis of respecting countries' sovereignty and rejecting interference in the internal affairs. She pointed out growing parliamentary relations between Bahrain and Iraq for the common interest of both countries and peoples and to promote pan-Arab work in light of global challenges and developments. The meeting was attended by Second Secretary at the Iraqi embassy Udai Khedhir.
