Bahraini-Moroccan relations praised

Manama, Nov. 8 (BNA): Moroccan Ambassador to Bahrain, Ahmed Rasheed Khutabi, praised the four-decade long Bahraini-Moroccan relations highlighted by mutual consultation and cooperation and determination to defend the joint vital interests in regional and international forums.
The ambassador pointed out the royal directives to develop the bilateral relations that have been culminated by three agreements signed between the two sides during the recent visit of HM King Mohammed VI of Morocco to the Kingdom of Bahrain on non-double taxation, investment promotion, sharing expertise in the field of religion, and the formation in the judicial field.
In an interview with Bahraini Layalina Magazine, he said the solid Bahraini-Moroccan partnership is an essential element of the strategic Moroccan-GCC partnership.
He noted keenness to exchange trade with Bahrain and activation of the joint business council to benefit from opportunities available in both countries, highlighting his country's strategic geographic location and its strong economic relations with various countries of the world.
He commended Bahrain's media and journalism as they are the focus of the reforms project of HM King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and supported by HRH Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa and HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister. He lauded the leadership's support for media and journalism sectors, expressing appreciation of the Bahraini media efforts in defending Arab issues at all levels.
He underlined Morocco's respect for states' sovereignty, unity and non-interference in their internal affairs, as well as its efforts in the development of mechanisms to counter terrorism and extremism and bolstering development, security and environmental issues.
He pointed out Morocco's interest in addressing serious global issues represented in hosting the World Conference on Climate Change between 7-18 November.
He expressed optimism about reaching a consensus and unified Moroccan atmosphere capable of overcoming causes of dividing resulted of old conflicts.
