Bahraini official delegation starts Israel visit

Tel Aviv, Dec.1 (BNA): An official Bahraini delegation, led by the Minister of Industry, Commerce and Tourism, Zayed binRashid Al-Zayani, arrived in the State of Israel today. The visit, comprising a number of officials from the kingdom’s ministries and state departments, in addition to businessmen, is the second official visit by a Bahraini delegation to the State of Israel. Upon arrival, the Bahraini delegation was welcomed by the Israeli Economy Minister, Amir Peretz, Tourism Minister, Orit Farkash-Hacohen, Regional Cooperation Minister, Ofir Akunis, and a number of officials. In a statement, Minister Al-Zayani said that the visit to the State of Israel is based on the two countries’ agreements in the Declaration Supporting Peace, signed in Washington on September 15, 2020. It is also in line with His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa’s vision on promoting the principles of “security, stability and prosperity”, he said, adding that the Kingdom of Bahrain is keen to maintain its reputation as a beacon of peace in the region. “This visit also follows on the results of the previous visits of the two sides. We are keen to work together in various sectors, especially regarding the economic and tourism sectors in whose various fields we seek to build bilateral partnerships. The signing of memoranda of understanding in many fields will lead to achieving economic prosperity for the Kingdom of Bahrain and the State of Israel, and therefore ensure more stability in the region,” he also said. “Bahrain and Israel will continue bolstering their cooperation in order to achieve their common interests,” he added, noting that “such visits, and others in the future, will contribute to launching many cooperation initiatives in various fields.”
