Bahraini vocational education and training experience highlighted

Manama: March 30 – (BNA): Labour Ministry Undersecretary Sabah Salem Al-Dosary participates in the International Conference on Technical Educational and Vocational Training. The conference which is organized by the GCC General Secretary, which focuses on the "Present Challenges and Future Horizons" will be held in the State of Kuwait in the period from March 31 to April 2. Al-Dosary said the conference discusses the similar challenges facing technical education and vocational training in the region and development strategies under fast socio-economic transformations in the labour market in addition to introducing key international experiences and latest techniques to ensure the quality technical education and vocational training. The Labour Ministry Undersecretary highlighted the slow growth of technical education and vocational training in contrast with the speedy growth of the labour market and its latest developments, citing the Kingdom of Bahrain’s efforts on the part of the High Commission for Education and Training Development presided over by Deputy Prime Minister His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa in establishing an integrated setup for revival of technical education and training in Bahrain as well as latest good results attained by the Commission and successfully fulfilling the need of the labour market for educated and trained Bahrain workers. Bahrain has taken numerous executive steps notably the vocational qualifications project, the occupational tests centre and developed the relevant legislations regarding the creation and licensing of vocational training institutions.
