Bahraini women's progress highlighted

Manama, Oct. 5 (BNA): Vice president of the Supreme Council for Women (SCW) Shaikha Mariam bint Hassan Al Khalifa said that the support of the comprehensive development led by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa guarantees the basic principles that provide women with all the rights that men have.
Those principles, as prescribed by the National Action Charter and the Constitution, constitute the framework for all rights, she said in her lecture "The progress of Bahrain women in politics" at a symposium organized by Bahrain Institute for Political Development (BIPD).
The symposium, within the "Sharek" (Participate) awareness program launched ahead of the elections, was attended by members of Parliament and potential candidates.
HM the King's vision to support women represents the first nucleus of all efforts and achievements made for women in all areas, especially the political field.
The efforts made by SCW, headed by HRH Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, wife of His Majesty the King, and her tireless follow-up, had a great effect in supporting women to be full partners in the nation-building process, she said.
HRH has played many roles in asserting women's presence and advancement to obtain and exercise their rights and numerous achievements have been accomplished since its establishment in 2001 until 2022, Shaikha Mariam said.
