Bahrain's Capital Municipal Council chairman, members take legal oath

Manama, Dec. 6 (BNA): Minister of Works, Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning, Essam bin Abdulla Khalaf, has attended the first meeting of the Capital Municipal Council, held at the Municipalities Affairs headquarters here.
Municipalities Affairs’ Undersecretary, Dr. Nabil Abu Al-Fateh, Assistant Undersecretary for Joint Municipal Services, Wael Al-Mubarak, Director-General of the Capital Municipal Council, Shawqiya Humaidan, Legal Advisor and Works Ministry’s officials were present.
During the meeting, the Capital Municipal Council’s Chairman, Saleh Taher Mohammed Tarrada, and members took the legal oath.
In a statement, the minister expressed sincere congratulations to the Capital Municipal Council’s chairman and members on their appointment to their posts as per a Royal Decree issued by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, wishing them every success in serving the nation and the citizens.
He said that the oath-taking session augurs a new phase of municipal work in the kingdom to continue the nation-building march under HM the King’s National Project.
The minister affirmed the great unwavering support enjoyed by municipal work from His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Premier.
He stressed that the Ministry of Works, Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning will harness all its potentials to support the Capital Municipal Council, being a basic partner that has contributed to enriching the municipal work march.
Undersecretary, Abu Al-Fateh congratulated the Capital Municipal Council’s chairman and members on the royal confidence in them, pledging to enhance cooperation with them in order to enhance Manama’s urban and economic development.
The Capital Municipal Council Chairman congratulated the Works Minister on his re-appointment to his post, wishing him further success.
He also stressed that the Capital Municipal Council will continue the work of the previous council, and put forward plans to develop the capital and promote it’s the kingdom’s tourist and economic front.
Capital Municipal Council’s director-general said that the council will develop municipal work and devote it to serving the citizens, stressing the need for real partnership between the executive authorities and the Capital Municipal Council to enhance services and projects in the capital, Manama.
