Bahrain's educational progress highlighted

Abu Dhabi, Nov. 22 (BNA): Education Minister Dr: Majid bin Ali Al Nuaimi delivered a working paper at the 9th Education Conference in Abu Dhabi, UAE, themed "Advanced Education for a Changing World: UAE's Educational Strategy", held by UAE Centre for Strategic and Research Studies, in presence of Emirati Education Minister Hussein bin Ibrahim Al Hammadi, and the centre’s general director Dr. Jamal Sanad Al Suwaidi, academic researchers and officials.
Dr. Al Nuaimi highlighted various themes including the challenges facing education and how to overcome these challenges. He outlined Bahrain’s educational progress including developmental projects implemented by the minister. He cited the Kingdom winning advanced positions in international reports, including achievement of advanced rating in the Arab world as per United Nations Human Resources Development indices by climbing 7 points between 2012 and 2017.
Bahrain ranked 4th in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region in Boston Consultancy Group’s 2018 annual report. Bahrain also ranked the first Arab country and 47th globally in the World Bank’s 2018 report. Bahrain also achieved advanced results in the 2015 TIMMs tests, especially eighth graders mathematics test by 45 standard grades between 2011 and 2015 thus ranking the first country in the TIMMS numeric strategy tests, according to the minister.
He asserted the importance of maintaining the national identity vis-à-vis modern technology, pointing out that the experience of citizenship and human rights enhancement schools contributed in lowering the rate of incidence of student violations, improved overall performance of participating schools especially in terms of personality development of students.
