Bahrain's embassy to U.S. hosts reception on National Days

Washington, Dec. 11 (BNA): Bahrain's embassy to the United States hosted a reception on the occasion of Bahrain's celebrations of its National Days, in commemoration of the establishment of the modern Bahraini State as an Arab and Muslim state, founded by Ahmed Al Fateh in 1783, and the anniversary of His Majesty the King’s Accession to the Throne. The celebration also coincides with the 51st anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Bahrain and America, in the presence of a number of senior officials. Bahrain's Ambassador to US Shaikh Abdullah bin Rashid Al Khalifa extended in his speech his congratulations to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, to His Highness Royal Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, and the people of Bahrain on this special occasion. The ambassador praised the longstanding Bahraini-US relations and noted the need to continue working to enhance cooperation, especially with regard to security, trade, economic, cultural and other aspects. He pointed to the importance of the agreements concluded between the two countries, including the Joint Defense Cooperation Agreement and the Free Trade Agreement that have contributed to strengthening the strategic partnership between the two friendly countries. The ambassador said that under HM the King's leadership and HRH Prince Salman's support, Bahrain has accomplished many national achievements this year. Shaikh Abdullah expressed his pride in the Bahraini-US friendship built on a solid foundation of common values and interests, leading to a strategic partnership to maintain regional and international peace and security.
