Bahrain's Health Minister meets WHO top official

Khartoum, Oct. 15 (BNA): Health Minister Faeqa Saeed Al Saleh headed the Kingdom of Bahrain’s delegation to the World Health Organisation (WHO)’s 65th Session of the WHO’s Regional Committee for Middle East currently being held in the Sudanese capital Khartoum.
The minister conveyed the greetings of His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa to the World Health Organisation’s General Director for his continuous support that qualified Bahrain to obtain the United Nations (UN) Inter-Agency Task Force to combat non-communicable diseases (NCDs). Bahrain achieved the best health and preventative standards of maintaining the health of the Kingdom’s citizens and residents.
The meeting discussed various topics of shared concern in addition to cooperation between Bahrain and the World Health Organization. They also cited the invitation addressed to the WHO general director to attend the First Gulf Health Insurance Exhibition/Conference themed (Gulf Vision to Apply Health Insurance, slated to be hosted on November 18-19 under the patronage of His Royal Highness the Prime Minister, aimed to achieve the international policy of the WHO to achieve Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and extending the health coverage to all people everywhere.
Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus the General Director of the World Health Organization expressed his gratitude and appreciation of HRH the Prime Minister, affirming the significant role of the upcoming Gulf Health Insurance Exhibition/Conference which will be hosted in Bahrain citing the importance of SDGS and financing the health sector to provide comprehensive high quality health services.
