Bahrain's human rights strides highlighted

Jakarta, June 26 (BNA): Ambassador of Bahrain to Indonesia, Dr. Mohammed Ghassan Shikho, today met a number of Indonesian journalists.
The ambassador hailed the Kingdom of Bahrain for reaching the Tier 1 status in the US Department of State Trafficking in Persons (TiP) Report, the first and only country in Middle East and North Africa to reach this status. He also affirmed that this achievement is the result of the directives of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and his reform approach in the field of development, sustainable development and respect for human rights.
He added that the Kingdom of Bahrain stresses its strong presence in various international and regional forums through the Kingdom's adoption of the best practices against trafficking in humans, with the support of His Royal Highness Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa the Prime Minister and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister, that contributed to creating an integrated Bahraini system that led to this success.
The ambassador affirmed that this status is a reflection of the international community’s recognition of the efforts exerted by the Kingdom of Bahrain in the field of combating trafficking in persons, under the reform approach of His Majesty the King, which resulted in creating an investment-attracting environment.
