Bahrain's Information Minister highlights royal vision for youth development

Manama, Nov. 28 (BNA): Information Affairs Minister, Chairman of Bahrain Institute for Political Development, Ali bin Mohammed Al Romaihi, praised the government and private participation in the Youth Summit in implementation of HM the King’s development vision to promote and empower the youth, as they are the core of the reform project. The Information Minister commended the success of the Youth Summit patronized by HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister, with the support of Representative to HM the King for Charity Works and Youth Affairs, Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports (SCYS), President of Bahrain Olympic Committee, HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, which reflected the concerted national efforts to support and empower the youth as they are active partners in the comprehensive development process. He said the Youth Summit represented an active platform to bolster the national programme for the development of youth and sport sectors, which was opened by HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad in last April, an initiative designed to unify efforts of sport and youth institutions of government and private sectors based on a joint strategy to boost the youth and sport achievements in line with the goals of sustainable development and Bahrain economic vision 2030. Al Romaihi lauded the content of HH Shaikh Nasser’s speech in the event, which emphasized the government’s interest in upgrading the youth and sport movement and developing the youth’s aptitudes as they are a national wealth and a pillar of progress, prosperity, democracy and sport. The Minister paid tribute to the Bahraini youth’s consciousness and participation in the development process and protecting the national achievements and gains. He pointed out their honourable participation in the 2018 elections, as candidates and voters, and their response to the ambition initiatives of the SCYS Chairman and Deputy Chairman HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa on accentuating Bahrain’s international sport standing. He stressed the Ministry’s keenness to make its media and human resources available to support future government initiatives and programmes to upgrade the youth and sport sectors. He noted the Ministry’s follow-up to the implementation of 16 media programmes and initiatives out of 177 within the national programme for the development of the youth and sport sectors. He said many radio and TV programmes related to the youth issues have been prepared and broadcasted via Bahrain Sport 1, 2 and Youth Radio, comprising Successful Experiences, Summer camps and Star Cafe, in addition to engaging them in media training courses. The Minister affirmed keenness to highlight and support the youth and sport movement and achievements, noting to carry on broadcasting media messages and awareness programmes to disseminate the values of national unity, tolerance and loyalty to the homeland and royal leadership.
