Bahrain's National Institution for Human Rights trains 1,981 in nine months

Manama, Sept. 30 (BNA): The National Institution for Human Rights (NIHR)’s Secretary-general Khalifa bin Ali Al Fadhil said the NIHR has trained a total number of 1,981 individuals in the first three quarters of this year including 655 people trained in the third quarter. Dr. Al Fadhil added that the categories who benefitted from the National Institution’s training and cultural programmes cover law enforcement personnel, academicians, consultants, trade unionists, civil society organisations; youth and student organisations, rights advocates, representatives of private and commercial establishments, and 160 members of the National Security Agency (NSA) who benefited from the NIHR's special cooperation programme with the NSA. The training programme comprises basic introduction on promoting the culture of human rights for all community segments including lawyers and judiciary members to achieve the objectives stated in the national, regional and international rights mechanisms to boost awareness according to the best practice in the human rights field.
