Bahrain's new achievement in combating human trafficking hailed

Manama, June 20 (BNA): Speaker of the Council of Representatives, Fawzia bint Abdullah Zainal, praised Bahrain’s achievement to maintain for the second year in a row its Tier 1 status in the US State Department’s 2019 Trafficking in Persons (TIP) report in the Middle East and North Africa region. The Speaker said the historical accomplishment is another one to add to Bahrain’s previous achievements in the prosperous era of HM King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa. It also reflects the successful follow up of the Coordination Committee chaired by HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister. Zainal said the achievement has accentuated Bahrain’s international standing in the field of combating human trafficking, welcoming Bahrain’s initiatives in human rights and expat labour rights.
