Bahrain's pioneering human rights status stressed

Manama, July 24 (BNA): Shura Council Chairman Ali bin Saleh Al Saleh affirmed that the pioneering reform project of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa has laid the bases for a series of achievements in the human rights field. He said the Kingdom of Bahrain has become one of the pioneering countries in this respect and a distinguished model in applying advanced systems in this regard. The Shura Council Chairman was speaking as he received today Daily Tribune Editor-in-Chief and President of the Arabian-African Unity Organisation Captain Mahmood Yusef Al Mahmood who presented him with a copy of his book “King of Humanity-Human Rights in the Kingdom of Bahrain”. Al Saleh said documenting Bahrain’s human rights achievements in the prosperous era of HM the King reflects the high status reached by the kingdom in this field. He stressed Bahrain’s constant steps and strong determination to promote those accomplishments according to ambitious strategies carried out within the framework of an advanced legislative and legal system. The Shura Council Chairman hailed the ongoing efforts of Captain Mahmood Al Mahmood mainly in the media, press and human rights fields. He also lauded his keenness to use his experience and skills in research and writing which reflects his assumption of the national responsibility to highlight the kingdom’s progress at all levels. He praised the content of Al Mahmood’s new publication which casts light on the kingdom’s remarkable human rights achievements. Captain Al Mahmood thanked the Shura Council Chairman for his support to writers and national competencies, describing it as an incentive to exert more efforts in writing and documentation.
