Bahrain's preparations to participate in COP26 discussed

Manama, Sept. 28 (BNA): President of the Sustainable Energy Authority (SEA), Dr. Abdulhussain bin Ali Mirza, today received the 2021 United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP26) Regional Ambassador for the Middle East and North Africa, Eastern Europe and Central Asia, Janet Rogan, in the presence of the UK Ambassador to Bahrain, Roddy Drummond.
Dr. Mirza welcomed the delegation, and commended the efforts being made by the United Kingdom to ensure the success of COP26, aiming to unify global endeavours to confront climate change, praising the role played by the UK Embassy in Bahrain to coordinate with the relevant government departments and ministries on the kingdom’s participation in the climate change summit.
Dr. Mirza discussed with Ambassador Janet Rogan the kingdom’s preparations to participate in COP26, set to be held in Glasgow in November.
SEA President briefed the UK delegation about the achievements of the kingdom in the fields of renewable energy and energy efficiency.
COP26 Regional Ambassador lauded the achievements attained by Bahrain in record time, praising the major role by the Sustainable Energy Authority in this regard, which, she said, confirms the kingdom’s serious steps to address climate change.
She affirmed her country’s support for Bahrain’s efforts to enhance its contributions to the international endeavours to confront climate change.
