Bahrain's presidency of IIAS successful, says BIPA Director-General

Manama, Dec. 26 (BNA): Director-General of the Bahrain Institute of Public Administration (BIPA), and President of the International Institute of Administrative Sciences (IIAS), Dr. Raed Mohammed bin Shams, has affirmed that His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa’s sound vision, and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister’s forward-looking vision, have entitled Bahrain to lead global competitiveness indicators in many fields. He pointed out that the Kingdom, represented by BIPA, has proven its outstanding ability in managing the most prestigious international organisation for public administration and developing its outputs, through its presidency of IIAS and all its affiliated organisations and managing its Secretariat General for the first time in its history. Dr. Bin Shams was speaking during the virtual ceremony held marking IIAS’ 90th anniversary. Leading the international organisation, BIPA has succeeded in developing IIAS’ administrative work by developing the international public administration agenda and enhancing the quality and efficiency of government outcomes and public administration research through continuing the networking of international efforts, and keenness to unify regional and global efforts in a ways that meets international aspirations, he said. He indicated that the Kingdom of Bahrain has been able to take advantage of its efficiency in facing financial challenges and generating revenues in innovative ways in strengthening the financial position of the IIAS by helping it to overcome financial challenges and find innovative solutions to generate revenues, noting that these efforts have actually contributed to increasing IIAS’ revenues. He added that the establishment of an electronic platform to hold international administrative conferences and events is among the most important achievements of the kingdom during its current presidency of IIAS, noting that the e-platform will pave the way for all researchers and officials from around the world to participate in all IIAS’ events, and benefit from its workshops, lectures and seminars remotely.
