Bahrain's rights strides highlighted

Geneva, Mar.5(BNA): The Assistant Foreign Minister, Abdulla bin Faisal bin Jabr Al Doseri, affirmed the leading achievements of the Kingdom of Bahrain in the respect of human rights and freedoms as well as political participation, peaceful expression of opinion and bolstering the foundation of equality, justice and the rule of law. He was speaking at meetings with the Arab Republic of Egypt permanent representative to the United Nations office in Geneva and Deputy Chairman of the Human Rights Council, Amr Ramadan, the Republic of Tunisia permanent representative and African Group coordinator, Walid Doudech, Permanent Representative of Australia and coordinator of the Western European group, John Quinn, on the sidelines of the 34th session of the Human Rights Council in Geneva. Al Doseri noted the progress made by the Kingdom of Bahrain in all human rights fields, stemming from the deep belief in humanitarian principles and religious values and approach in building a civil state, and its commitment to protect and promote human rights in accordance with the principles of the National Action Charter and the provisions of the constitution of global human rights standards. This is in addition to its attention to ensuring the rights and well-being and human dignity for all citizens without discrimination on grounds of sex, origin, language, religion or creed. He referred in this regard to ensuring the rights of citizens to political participation and election to parliament and municipal councils as well as the right to litigation in the context of developed democracy experience to ensure the separation of legislative, executive and judicial authorities with the cooperation and in accordance with the provisions of the Constitution, freedom of conscience and religious practice. This is in addition to safeguarding the right to freedom of expression and scientific research, press and media, and the formation of civil society in the presence of more than 630 civil and political society. Al Doseri highlighted the many of the achievements of human, civil, political, economic, social and cultural rights, the Bahraini experience labor market reform, the creation of a community partnership and capacity building in the light of the directives of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, and the work program of the government (2015-2018), aimed at achieving justice, security and well-being. During the meetings, he affirmed the keenness of the Kingdom of Bahrain to bolster coordination and cooperation with other countries as well as international organizations and commissions affiliated to the UN and in partnership with the Human Rights Council. He praised the progress of ties between the Kingdom of Bahrain with the Arab Republic of Egypt, Republic of Tunisia and Australia in various fields.
