Bahrain's Shura Council chairman hails royal keynote speech

Manama, Dec.12(BNA): Shura Council Chairman Ali bin Saleh Al-Saleh presided over the first procedural meeting of the first session of the fifth legislative term, in the presence of ministers. Al-Saleh and Shura Council members took their oath at the beginning of the session, in compliance with article 78 of the constitution. The Shura Council chairman extended deepest thanks and appreciation to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa for inaugurating the first session of the fifth legislative term. He said that the Shura Council will spare no effort to assume their constitutional and political duties and cooperate with the Council of Representatives and the Government, chaired by His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al-Khalifa, supported by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Premier. Al-Saleh congratulated HM the King, HRH the Premier and HRH the Crown Prince and the people of Bahrain on the opening of the first session of the fifth legislative term and the landmark success of the parliamentary and municipal elections. He hailed the keynote speech which was delivered by HM the King at the opening of the first session of the fifth legislative term, backing all efforts to maintain national security and stability, pursue economic development and spur growth and meet citizens’ aspirations. During the procedural session, Jamal Mohammed Fakhro has been elected as Shura Council First Deputy chairman. Hala Ramzi Qurisa has also been elected unopposed as Shura Council Second Deputy chairman.
