Bahrain's Speaker receives Palestinian ambassador

Manama, Jan. 9 (BNA): Representatives Council Speaker Fawzia bint Abdullah Zainal received today Palestinian Ambassador to Bahrain Taha Abdul Qader. She stressed Bahrain's unwavering support to the Palestinian cause and the Palestinians' struggle to liberate all their land and establish their independent state with its capital Jerusalem. She pointed out that His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa always stresses in his speeches that the Palestinian issue is a priority to Bahrain and that the Palestinian people have the rights to establish their independent state. The Representatives Council Speaker underlined the council's keenness on supporting the Palestinian issue by building strong relations with the Palestinian legislative branch and backing Arab solidarity with the Palestinian people in international parliamentary gatherings. She pointed out that the Representatives Council is the first Arab legislative council to set up a permanent parliamentary committee to support the Palestinian people. The Palestinian ambassador thanked the Representatives Council Speaker for her interest in the Palestinian issue, lauding Bahrain's efforts in supporting the Palestinian people and alleviating their suffering.
