Bahrain's support to Palestinian people's rights reiterated

Manama, Dec. 5 (BNA): Undersecretary of Regional & GCC Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Waheed Mubarak Sayyar, has stressed the support of the Kingdom of Bahrain to the legitimate and inalienable rights of the Palestinian people. He said that the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People reflects the unwavering interest and commitment of the United Nations to realize the aspirations of the Palestinian people to attain their legitimate rights. The International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People celebration was held by the United Nations House in Manama and was attended by a number of ambassadors, diplomats and civil society associations. Ambassador Sayyar also said that the letter of the Bahraini Minister of Foreign Affairs, Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Khalifa to the Chairman of the Committee on the Exercise of the Inalienable Rights of the Palestinian People for the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People. In this letter, he reiterated the support of the Kingdom of Bahrain, under His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, for the legitimate and inalienable rights of the Palestinian people, foremost of which is the right to establish an independent state with East-Quds as its capital on the borders of June 4, 1967, according to the two-state solution, resolutions of International legitimacy and the Arab Peace Initiative. He also reaffirmed the responsibility of the international community towards the people of Palestine, their just cause, and the immediacy to find a solution for it, especially after the unprecedented suffering they have been through, which further necessitates standing with them in their long-running crisis, whose continuation causes a serious threat to not only peace and stability in the Middle East, but also internationally. The deterioration of the situation in the occupied Palestinian territories and the continued unacceptable Israeli policy of the displacement of Palestinians, the use of excessive and unjustified force, the seizure of land and the establishment of illegal settlements and other dangerous practices are flagrant violations of the United Nations Charter, the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, and the Geneva Conventions, all of which obliges the international community to pressure Israel to immediately stop those practices, and implement the resolutions of international legitimacy. Sayyar concluded his speech by stressing what the Minister of Foreign Affairs affirmed in his letter to the Chairman of the Committee on the Exercise of the Inalienable Rights of the Palestinian People, that achieving a just and comprehensive peace is a priority for us and will always be a prime concern for the Kingdom of Bahrain. It is also a noble goal that we should exert all the needed efforts to achieve; a strategic necessity to establish security and stability at the regional and international level. We further stress that the Arab Peace Initiative remains the best way to end the Arab-Israeli conflict and achieve our desired peace.
