Bahrain's tolerance, coexistence strengthened by HM King's reforms

Manama, Jan. 16 (BNA): Shaikh Khalid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Deputy Prime Minister, said that tolerance, coexistence, and respect for other religions and cultures have always been warmly embraced by Bahrainis. However, these values have been strengthened after the reforms launched by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa made them a way of life, Shaikh Khalid said as he received a delegation from the Bahrain Society for Tolerance and Coexistence of Religions, led by its president Yousif Buzaboon. The delegation offered the deputy prime minister a copy of the book "Bahrain, Land of Peace" issued by the society. Shaikh Khalid expressed his admiration for the documentation in the book that reflected the reality and facts about tolerance and coexistence of religions in the Kingdom. He also praised the society's noble objectives to spread a culture of tolerance among people that rejects violence, hatred, extremism, intolerance and fanaticism and to consolidate a culture of dialogue among religions, civilizations and cultures and to call for peaceful coexistence, regardless of religious, ethnic or intellectual affiliations. The delegation expressed gratitude to Shaikh Khalid for his support towards achieving the society's objectives and promoting its peaceful co-existence messages both in Bahrain and abroad.
