Bahrain's Transportation minister signs 4 air service agreements

Manama, (BNA): Minister of Transportation and Telecommunications, Kamal bin Ahmed Mohammed, stressed Bahrain’s keenness to broaden aviation cooperation with other countries to upgrade the national aviation sector.
On the sidelines of the 2018 Bahrain International Airshow being held under the patronage of HM King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the Transportation Minister signed four air service agreements with Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Brunei and Brazil.
The minister represented Bahrain in the signing ceremony, while Saud Arabia’s Transport Minister Dr. Nabeel bin Mhammed Al Amoudi, UAE’s General Civil Aviation Authority’s General-Manager Saif Mohammed Al Suwaidi, Brunei’s Communications Ministry Abdulmutalib Pehin Dato Yusof and Brazil’s Ambassador to Kuwait, Norton de Andrea Mello Rapesta, represented their sides.
The agreements include the regulation of air services between Bahrain and the signatory countries, in accordance with the latest standards approved by International Civil Aviation Organization, to comprise air safety regulations, aviation security, protection of environment, sale of air transport products, automated airline reservation system, as well as provision of air transport rights.
The minister expressed delight in signing the agreements, which would boost Bahrain’s regional standing in the aviation field. He added it also reflects the royal vision in line with the civilizational development seen by the Kingdom of Bahrain.
