Bangkokians invited to join cross-year prayers
BANGKOK, Dec 21 (TNA) – Bangkok governor invites Bangkok residents to join cross-year prayers at the city hall and other eight Buddhist temples in the capital.
Bangkok governor Aswin Kwanmuang posted on his Facebook, inviting public members to pay respect to Phra Phuttha Nawaratbophit Buddha image and join the cross-year prayers at the Laan Khon Muang plaza in front of the city hall to welcome the New Year.
People, who are not Buddhists, are invited to observe their religious practices to make merit for HM late King Bhumibol Adulyadej and to bless Her Majesty Queen Sirikit as well as His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn and members of the royal family.
The governor said the alms-giving ceremony will be held at the city hall plaza in the morning of January1, 2018 for the BMA officials and people to start the New Year with Dharmma, Mindfulness and Happiness.
Nine venues for cross-year prayers are the Bangkok city hall plaza and eight temples - Wat Arun, Wat Phra Chetuphon, Wat Benchamabophit, Wat Suthat, Wat Ratcha Orasaram, Wat Ratchapradit, Wat Praram Kao Kanchanapisek and Wat Vachiratham Satit. (TNA)
