Bangkok's Government House prepares for Children's Day

BANGKOK, January 12 (TNA) - Officials are preparing and decorating buildings and the compound of Bangkok's Government House to welcome Children of all groups on this year's Children's Day, which falls on January 13. Thai Prime Minister General Prayut Chan-ocha will preside over a ceremony to inaugurate the Children's Day 2018 at the Government House at 9:30am. The prime minister will also open his office to welcome and to take photos with a group of 21 children who have brought reputation to the nation, as well as those who come from the troubled Thai Far South and underprivileged children. All children who visit the Government House on the Children's Day are normally welcome to enter the prime minister's office and sit at the premier's desk. Prime Minister Prayut is also scheduled to deliver a speech and visit booths and tents set up by various agencies and institutes to organize a variety of activities to entertain the participating children. The activities include musical concerts and performances presented by several schools and other parties. The prime minister has earlier presented his motto for Thai children on the occasion of the Children's Day 2018, which is “Think Critically, Stay Aware, Create with Technology”. In Thailand, the Children's Day falls on the second Saturday of every January. (TNA)
