'Barrack Stay' In Army Town, Port Dickson

PORT DICKSON (Malaysia), April 27 (Bernama) -- The Negeri Sembilan state government plans to set up a homestay within the army camp here, which will be known as 'Barrack Stay'. It is another tourism product to draw visitors, according to state Tourism, Unity, Culture, Arts and Heritage and Malay Custom Committee chairman, Datuk Mohammad Razi Kail. "It will not be found in any other army camp in the country. Barack Stay will be open to the public and will be yet another tourist attraction," he told Bernama, here, Thursday. He also said that the state government and Defence Ministry would set up a secretariat to plan and ensure smooth implementation of programmes for Port Dickson, the Army Town. He said the secretariat would be chaired jointly by Chief Minister Mohamad Hasan and Defence Minister Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi. Port Dickson or PD to locals is a beach and holiday destination situated about 32 km from Seremban and 90 km from Kuala Lumpur. It is located in the state of Negeri Sembilan in Peninsular Malaysia. Negeri Sembilan lies on the western coast of Peninsular Malaysia, just south of Kuala Lumpur and borders Selangor on the north. -- BERNAMA
