BAS celebrated Bahraini Woman's Day

Manama, Dec. 3 (BNA): Bahrain Airport Services Company (BAS) celebrated Bahrain Women's Day at the company's headquarters in the presence of the company's CEO, managers and employees. The ceremony included a speech by Chief Executive Officer Salman Al-Mahmeed, said" "Before I became CEO, I had a career in human capital management, where I sought the status of women in the company, and this is what makes me today with a determination to empower you and support you to get more privileges". He added: "BAS's strategy is based on being an attractive work environment for women, and this will be achieved by providing the necessary reasons, overcoming difficulties, developing practical skills, assuming leadership positions and making women an active partner in decision-making". He also announced an initiative to allocate funding for research efforts. Where one subject will be chosen each year related to women and work in the field of airport services, which will be funded and may provide research as a master's thesis or doctoral thesis, for example. On the other hand, the S. Manager Human Capital, Ms. Hanaa Abdul Wahid, said: "Ten years have passed since the first celebration of Bahrain Women's Day, which was the result of the efforts of the wife of Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, President of the Supreme Council for Women". She added: "We are inspired to provide support to Bahraini women, especially hardworking women. Who leave her house every morning leaving her children behind her and her duties, to perform another duty in her work environment. From this point of view, I thank BAS women, who spend their days in the company with sincerity and dedication, making their active efforts in the highest level". She also pointed out that the number of women in BA is increasing continuously. This is clear evidence of the company's interest in empowering women and providing them with opportunities. She noted that BAS is looking forward to the adoption of the Social Responsibility Project, which aims to provide pioneering and diversified initiatives for the local community, and women will have their share of this project.
