BCCI hails Bahraini-Saudi efforts in easing crossing of foreign truck drivers via causeway

Manama, Apr. 3 (BNA): The Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) has lauded the consolidated efforts of various government bodies in Bahrain in easing the crossing of foreign truck drivers via King Fahad Causeway, following the congestion issue that occurred as a result of the preventive measures on the causeway in light of the coronavirus pandemic. BCCI revealed that 320 trucks driven by expatriates were congested on King Fahad Causeway for 14 days due to the extensive preventive measures taken by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to combat the spread of coronavirus (Covid-19). However, and after contacting the Customs Affairs of the Ministry of Interior, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Economic Development Board, Bahrain Transport Society, and the Office of the First Deputy Prime Minister to mull solutions, a directive was issued on Tuesday, March 31, allowing trucks to cross the causeway to their countries.
