BDF Chief of Staff honours Master's Degree, PhD laureates

Manama, Mar. 16 (BNA): Commander-in-Chief of Bahrain Defence Force (BDF) Field Marshal Shaikh Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Khalifa has deputised Chief of Staff Lieutenant General Dhiab bin Saqr Al Nuaimi to honour BDF Master’s Degree and PhD laureates, marking the 2nd Military Science Day. In a speech given during the celebration held at the BDF Officers Club, the BDF Chief of Staff welcomed the honourees and congratulated them on their achievements. He pointed out the great importance given by BDF since its inception to academic education in parallel with military training. He paid tribute to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the Supreme Commander, for his unflinching keenness on boosting the competence of the BDF personnel militarily and academically out of a strong belief in the importance of human development for the nation’s prosperity. He praised the big strides made by BDF in modernising its units and boosting the competence of its personnel. The BDF Chief of Staff thanked the General Command, the Education Ministry, the Higher Education Council, the University of Bahrain and all other universities which contributed to the officers’ graduation. He also thanked the Military Training Directorate for its tireless efforts in this respect, praising the role of the organising committee chaired by Head of the Academic Education Department. Commandant of the Royal Command, Staff and National Defence College Rear Admiral Dr. Abdullah Said Al Mansouri gave a speech on behalf of the honourees in which he extended congratulations to HM the King, His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Premier and the BDF Commander-in-Chief on the 51st anniversary of Bahrain Defence Force. He underlined the great importance given by HM the King to education as the catalyst of the nations’ growth and prosperity. He also pointed out the role of education in sustainable development and bringing about a quality leap in all life facets. The BDF Chief of Staff honoured the Master’s Degree and PhD laureates in the celebration which was attended by Defence Ministry Undersecretary Major General Shaikh Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, National Guard Staff Director Major General Shaikh Abdulaziz bin Saud Al Khalifa, senior military and civil officials and Military Attaches from brotherly countries.
