Beginning of 6th International Zhautyk academic competition
Almaty, January 14, 2010 (Khabar) - Almaty has witnessed the beginning of the International Zhautyk academic competition. This is the sixth such competition and its organizers said that this year, the tasks are more difficult and the knowledge of the participants is better. The competition involves 49 teams from such countries as Egypt, Turkey, Indonesia, Bulgaria, Romania, Mongolia and countries of the CIS.
Tildash Bituova, director, “Daryn” National Scientific Centre:
- All our tasks are from higher mathematics, geometry, algebra and mathematical analysis and our talented children can solve these tasks. Their knowledge is so high because of the Internet. They know even more than some teachers about the kinds of tasks, which were offered at different academic contests.
Baris Kaya, competition participant (Turkey):
- I am aiming to gain a gold medal. We heard that all the tasks are very difficult and that is why we were using the material of different international competitions, which we found on the Internet. I believe that victory at such an academic competition will be very honourable.
The competition has two rounds and the jury involves professors from eight countries. At the end of the competition, the jury will present the rating of the strongest teams, who will receive medals, as well as such presents as laptops, video cameras and DVD players.
