On behalf of HM the King, HH Shaikh Mohammed bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa attends a reception marking the 93rd birthday of HM Queen Elizabeth II

Manama, Apr. 17(BNA): On behalf of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa today attended a reception marking the 93rd birthday of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, held at the British Embassy in Bahrain. During the event, HH Shaikh Mohammed delivered a speech in which he extended his best wishes to HM the Queen on the occasion of HM’s 93rd birthday, noting that HM the Queen remains a symbol of stability in a time of change. HH Shaikh Mohammed went on to highlight the virtues that HM King Hamad and HM the Queen share, particularly the virtue of respect for different points of views and a joint commitment to seeking common ground. HH Shaikh Mohammed then noted the support provided by HM King Hamad to strengthening the wide-ranging relationship between the two Kingdoms anchored in close defense coordination, growing economic cooperation, and promotion of education and cultural exchanges. HH affirmed that Bahrain and the UK have strengthened bilateral cooperation on defense, education and business, with the opening of the UK Naval Support Facility (NSF), the inauguration of the British University Bahrain (BUB), the recent deployment of HMS Montrose, and the launch of the Pitch@Palace Bahrain in its second edition. The British Ambassador to Bahrain, Simon Martin CMG, also delivered a speech in which he thanked HH Shaikh Mohammed for attending the reception on behalf of HM the King, and highlighted the historic partnership between Bahrain and the UK.
