Bike racing competition held to promote Thailand-Laos relations

LOEI, February 9 (TNA) - The 1st ‘Tour de Chiang Khan 2014’ cycling race was held in Thailand’s Loei province bordering Laos on Sunday to promote bilateral relations between the two countries. Loei governor Viroj Jiwarangsan presided over an opening ceremony of the bike racing competition, which also aimed at promoting public health, conserving energy and promoting Loei as a tourist destination. More than 700 Lao and Thai cyclists participated in the 80 kilometres race, which started from the Loei River in the provincial seat and ended at the Mekong River in Chiang Khan municipality. (TNA)
