BJA condemns Al-Jazeera's hostility to Bahrain

Manama, Mar. 11 (BNA): Bahrain Journalists’ Association (BJA) has condemned the ongoing hostility of Al-Jazeera channel towards the Kingdom of Bahrain and its attempts to discredit the kingdom’s internationally-recognised civilizational achievements. It pointed out Bahrain’s approach in using diplomatic means to handle differences with others, denouncing Qatar’s conspiratory method through its well-known media arm to shake security and stability of Arab countries. In a statement issued today, BJA affirmed that the clear and explicit Qatari practices showing hostility to the Kingdom of Bahrain and its people have laid bare its ill intentions and will bring no gains as believed by the rulers of Doha. BJA added that attempts to undermine the interests of others and mar their reputation will sooner or later be reversed. It stressed that broadcasting a TV programme does not affect the resistance of the Bahraini people in their endeavors to achieve sustainable growth in their dear country. It underlined the kingdom’s ongoing progress and distinction in everything it is doing for its people despite the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. It pointed out the international praise of Bahrain’s remarkable accomplishments under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa. BJA stressed support to all measures taken by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, adding that what Qatar is doing towards the Kingdom of Bahrain is unacceptable and in breach with the principles of good neighborliness and the statement of Al-Ula Summit. It noted that this undoubtedly shows that Qatar is not willing to carry out what it committed to at the GCC Summit which was held in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia last January. BJA paid tribute to Bahrain leadership for patience and constant display of good intentions, describing that as the approach of sane and wise people who take into consideration relations of kinship and deep-rooted relations in the history of the region.
