BMA tightens up measures for New Year holidays

BANGKOK, Dec 23 (TNA) -- The Bangkok Metropolitan Authority (BMA) has instructed all local district offices to tighten up on four main measures for the coming New Year holidays. Pol Lt Gen Chinthat Meesuk, BMA Deputy Governor said that apart from declaring the city’s four key measures, BMA also instructed that district offices in Bangkok facilitate the people’s needs during the upcoming holiday period. The four measures include the fire prevention; road accident prevention and lowering the number of road accidents; safety and security measures; and health and sanitation measures. The BMA has also ensured that fire brigades, ambulances, emergency and rescue units are readied and on standby during this period including personnel from the Bangkok Fire and Rescue Department, City Law Enforcement Department, Medical Service Department, Army, Police and Civilian Defense Volunteers. A City Command Centre has also been established to facilitate coordination with the network of relevant departments and organisations. (TNA)
