BNA Director-General: Global Media Congress offers great insights into amazing future

Abu Dhabi, Nov. 15 (BNA): Bahrain News Agency Director-General, Abdullah Buhejji, said that the Global Media Congress launched, on Tuesday in Abu Dhabi, was a great opportunity to gain deeper insights from advanced media companies and experts into the future of media.
"We are happy to be among an elite of media figures from the Emirates News Agency (WAM) and other expert media agencies and companies at this launch edition of the Global Media Congress," Buhejji said in remarks to WAM.
"What is remarkable is that you don’t feel this is the launch edition of the congress. The high number of participating companies and agencies, as well as the workshops and forums held throughout the day denote the importance of the congress and the global interest it is generating."
The high-level debates about the future of the media and about the prominent roles of technology and content are also riveting and thought-provoking.
"As we realize more and more that media is almost everything in the future, we need to understand where the media is heading and accordingly prepare our plans and strategies. The expert companies showcasing their services and assets in the forum are sharing much of their knowledge with the participants, which should help in anticipating the future and getting ready for it to the best of our capacities."
Buhejji said that the first edition of the Global Media Congress is so successful, and that he is already looking forward to the next editions that will be bigger and more comprehensive.
The congress is held in Abu Dhabi on November 15-17.
The launch edition of the Global Media Congress (GMC) is held under the patronage of HH Shaikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Presidential Court.
The conference-cum-exhibition Congress is organised by ADNEC Group in partnership with WAM.
The three-day event, themed "Shaping the Future of the Media Industry", sees participation from more than 1,200 media sector pioneers, specialists, and influencers from six continents in the globe, with more than 30 debates and workshops featuring more than 162 globally renowned speakers.
The conference and workshops for young media persons offer a platform for journalists, tech firms, content creators, digital marketing professionals, streaming giants, entertainment executives, regulators and key media stakeholders to share ideas and exchange experiences.
