Book Expo Thailand 2013 kicks off

BANGKOK, October 16 (TNA) - The Book Expo Thailand 2013 is organised at Bangkok's Queen Sirikit National Convention Centre from October 16-27, during which international readers are welcome at 1,000 book booths. Thai Deputy Prime Minister and Commerce Minister Kittirat Na Ranong presided over a ceremony to launch the Book Expo Thailand 2013, the 18th annual event of its kind, on Wednesday morning. The 12-day national book fair, in which over 1,000 publishers participate, also includes a performance entitled, "Books Change Life and the World". Exhibitions, namely "on the spot cover publishing", the first-ever handmade story books to be sent to people in the violence-plagued Thai far South as charity under an initiative, called "story books wagon, delivering happiness to Thailand's southern border region", and those in honour of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej and privy councilors, along with those marking the 40th anniversary of Thailand's pro-democracy popular uprising on October 14, 1973 are also held as part of this year's national book fair.
