Book familiarizing children with Iranian musical instruments published

TEHRAN,April 10(MNA) -- A book, which familiarizes Persian speaking children with a number of Iranian musical instruments, was published last week in Tehran. “Friendship with Iranian Musical Instruments” has been authored by setar virtuoso Fatemeh Maleki, publisher Sureh-Mehr announced in a press release on Sunday. “Since I am interested in Iranian instruments… and due to the profound influence music has on children, I decided to target the book for this age group,” Maleki had previously said. She spent about a year writing the book, which has been illustrated by Elaheh Taherian. The typographic effects in the book have been created by Mahmud Hosseini. The book contains information, which has been simplified for children, about over 20 instruments. The book is available with a CD, upon which the instruments have been recorded in high quality sound. The CD also contains some relevant computer games and musical exercises to entice children to read the book. The book was published with the help of the Music Center of the Art Bureau, which is affiliated with the Islamic Ideology Dissemination Organization.
