Book by Nursultan Nazarbayev is presented in Moscow
Moscow, October 16, 2009 (Khabar) - Russian scientists who attended the presentation of Nursultan Nazarbayev’s book in Moscow referred to it as being full of timeliness and modernity. The book entitled “the Strategy of radical renovation of global community and partnership of civilizations” describes the research done by the President regarding the post-industrial world.
According to Russian scholars, the book is unique because it proposes some tangible solutions to the existing model of inter-state cooperation. For instance, in order to restore existing monetary relations, it proposes using such structures as the CIS, the Eurasian Economic Community, the Shanghai Cooperation Organization and the OSCE. The book also proposes solving current issues by means of existing international institutions. Russian experts also underlined the importance of pointing out the issues of energy and ecological crisis as a new threat of the 21st century.
Oleg Kuznetsov, president, Russian Academy of Natural Sciences:
- The selfish consumption of energy resources has led to large ecological problems. We need to estimate the further capacity of hydrocarbon and alternative energies considering regional aspects. This book is among those which integrate different items of knowledge.
Yuri Yakovets, president, Sorokin-Kondratyev International Institute:
- Modern humanities education is not relevant for anyone without understanding civilizations, history and the future. This book should be issued in Kazakh and other languages and we are considering such an opportunity. You can’t feel alright without an understanding of what is going on in the world today.
Regarding the outcome of the sitting, the Russian scholars initiated the third global summit on sustainable development to be held in 2012 in Astana. Such an event, according to them, will ensure the implementation of the ideas of civilization partnership as proposed by the president.
