Brazilian official criticizes UNSC silence on Jews settlement

Tehran, Sept 1, IRNA – Brazilian representative in the 16th NAM summit criticized the UN Security Council silence on continuation of construction of Jews settlements in occupied territories and said that such an act will not help restoring peace in the Middle East. The official referred to continuation of wrong Israelis policies in Palestinian territories and said that international community should react to such measures. He said changes in existing situation in the region should be done and underlined his country's help for creation of an independent state of Palestine. The official referred to his country's officials' concern about situation in Syria and said that we want ceasefire in Syria and observation of the UN approvals for solving the crisis. He said that the only solution for Syrian crisis is implementation of the six-article plan of Mr. Kofi Annan, former representative of the UN in Syrian affairs.
