BRICS Economic Partnership Strategy approval expedited - Russia’s Foreign Ministry

MOSCOW, April 22. /TASS/. The approval by the BRICS group (Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa) of its Economic Partnership Strategy for the period until 2020 has been expedited, the Russian Foreign Ministry said in an annual performance report for 2014 published at the ministry's website. "The preparations for Russia’s presidency in the BRICS group remained among the basic tasks," the document said. "As part of the agreements with the BRICS partners, the issues that remained in the focus of attention were the quickest ratification and the entry into force of the Agreement on the Development Bank and the agreement on a pool of BRICS virtual currency reserves with the aim to launch these structures as quickly as possible," according to the document. "The process of the approval of the BRICS Economic Partnership Strategy designed until 2020 was expedited. The Strategy will define the key areas of investment activity of our countries with a focus on multilateral projects," the document said. Read more
