Briefing of Ministry for Foreign Affairs
Astana, 18 November 2008, (Khabar) - At a briefing of the Ministry for Foreign Affairs, its official representative Yerzhan Ashikbayev announced that at a meeting in the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan which will take place on the 19th and 20th of November in Astana under the chairmanship of the head of the state Nursultan Nazarbayev, it is planned to discuss crucial issues of international relations.

- Such issues as foreign policy missions, modernization of the Republic, the
activities of the department for foreign policy of our country and its
prospects for the future are on the agenda. It is also planned to conduct
seminars for the heads of foreign departments involving state officials.
Kazakhstan is to participate at the conference of heads of Turkic countries'
parliaments. A delegation from Kazakhstan is to participate in the first
Conference of heads of Turkic countries' parliaments which will take place
in Istanbul. It is expected that all members of the conference will ratify
an agreement concerning the creation of an inter-parliamentary Assembly of
Turkic speaking countries which was expressed by the president of Kazakhstan
in Antalya two years ago. The ratification of this document will form a new
stage in approaches to Turkic countries.
