Briefing of Ministry of Interior Affairs of Kazakhstan

Astana, November 10, 2009 (Khabar) - Almost 500 crimes and offenses in the sphere of informational technologies were revealed by law enforcement agencies during the quarterly operation “Counterfeit”. More than 57 000 units of the banned products were seized. This has been stated at a briefing of Ministry of Interior Affairs in Astana. The police managed to close online-casino and Kazakhstan's virtual store, whose owner sell counterfeit movies due to Internet. In addition, the policemen stopped the activity of transnational criminal group. It stole money from US citizens with forged bank cards, which are then were cashed in Almaty ATMs. Damage is amounted to 3 million tenge.

Inna Petrishcheva, deputy head of the department on fighting crimes in the sphere of high technologies, Ministry of Interior Affairs of RK:
- Now we identify the suffered personalities and a criminal case is under investigation.

15 thousand people prosecuted for violation of immigration laws and thirty criminal cases were begun. The Interior Ministry has also presented the results of the operation "Migrant" that was begun on November 2.

- Some 15 thousand foreigners, including 847 from far away countries were brought to the administrative charges during five days. 394 citizens of our country were punished for violation of rules of using of foreign labor.
