British analysts speak on Kazakhstan’s OSCE presidency

London, October 27, 2009 (Khabar) - The upcoming chairmanship of Kazakhstan in the OSCE is in the focus of Western analysts’ attention.

Khalid Nadeem, the chairman of the South Asia and Middle East Forum under the British Parliament:
- I am confident that Kazakhstan has a great future. The country is very fortunate as while having a relatively small number of populations, there are immense reserves of hydrocarbons and mineral resources. In addition to that, the president makes considerable efforts in leading Kazakhstan to the 21st century as a strong state especially in the area of education and economic diversification and cultural aspects are given great significance as well.

The former Member of Parliament and British government minister, the author of 12 books, including the biography of the American president Nixon and the head of the Kazakh state Nursultan Nazarbayev, the English aristocrat Jonathan Aitken believes that the chairmanship of Kazakhstan in the OSCE is a certain landmark which will open the new page of Kazakhstan’s history in its own right.

Jonathan Aitken:
- Kazakhstan will be able to do a lot of good things while taking up this post, such as reforms which have long required implementation in the OSCE. Kazakhstan plays a great role in the world as according to the West, Kazakhstan is the only serious state among the Central Asian countries which influences strategic, political and commercial decision-making in Europe.
