British Premier's speech at GCC Summit hailed

Manama, Dec. 7 (BNA): Bahraini Ambassador to the UK Shaikh Fawaz bin Mohammed Al Khalifa hailed the British Premier's speech before the GCC leaders in their summit today, describing it as an embodiment of strong and deep-rooted relations between the GCC countries and the UK. He stressed that the speech reflects keenness of the UK to boost relations of cooperation and coordination with the GCC countries. In a statement to Bahrain News Agency (BNA), on the sidelines of the 37th GCC Summit which concluded in Manama today, the Bahraini ambassador underscored outstanding relations between Bahrain and the UK, pointing out the kingdom's celebration of the 200th anniversary of those relations and describing the GCC-British summit as a culmination of bilateral relations. The ambassador affirmed that the British Prime Minister's speech is an assertion of stronger relations between the UK and the GCC countries in the future, pointing out Britain's unwavering commitment to ensuring security of the Gulf region given its strategic significance for the whole world. He also emphasized the importance of the facilities provided by Bahrain in the Arabian Gulf's water corridor, pointing out the military office which will be set up in Dubai for joint military training with Oman, in addition to experts from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. He also affirmed that military and security cooperation between the UK and the GCC countries would witness a quantum change in the future.
