Cabinet Affairs Minister meets Norwegian Foreign Minister

Oslo, Aug. 9 (BNA): Cabinet Affairs Minister, Mohammed bin Ibrahim Al-Mutawa met here, in the presence of the Chairman of the Khalifa Bin Salman Al Khalifa Award for Sustainable Development, Shaikh Hussam bin Isa Al Khalifa, the Norwegian Foreign Affairs Minister, Ms Ine Eriksen Soreide.
The Norwegian Foreign Minister welcomed the visit of the Cabinet Affairs Minister and his accompanying delegation, noting that her country is looking forward to strengthening its cooperation relations with Bahrain.
Minister Al-Mutawa praised Norway’s distinguished experience in the field of social services, as well as its contributions to prompting the culture of peace and stability in the world, stressing that the Norwegian experience is a model to be emulated.
He stressed the importance of consolidating bilateral cooperation and coordinating stances at various international gatherings and organisations to support the two countries’ positions and enhance their international weight.
Al-Mutawa highlighted Bahrain’s continuous efforts to strengthen the pillars of peace and achieve sustainable development goals, citing the UN’s adoption of His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa’s initiative to declare the 5th of April each year as the “International Day of Conscience” for the sake of encouraging the International Community to resolve conflicts peacefully.
Al-Mutawa extended an invitation to the Norwegian Foreign Minister to attend the ‘Bahrain International Forum’, to be held on the sidelines of the meetings of the UN General Assembly in September.
The Norwegian Foreign Minister welcomed the invitation, and lauded Bahrain’s continuous endeavours and initiatives to promote the common human values that call for tolerance and peace.
She congratulated Bahrain on the UN’s adoption of HRH Premier’s initiative, describing it as a pioneering step that would support the efforts of the International Community to consolidate peace and stability across the region.
She extended thanks to Bahrain for its keenness to coordinate stances with Norway at various internationall gatherings.
