Capital officials receive children involved in student exchange programme

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. The Governor’s Office of the Capital City has been organizing the student exchange programme in partnership with cities with friendship ties for over 10 years. This year’s programme is taking place between July 22 and 29.
Deputy Governor of the Capital City in charge of social development issues Sh.Ankhmaa and corresponding officials received representatives of teachers and students involved in the programme. A total of 37 representatives have arrived in Ulaanbaatar from Hohhot (PRC), Irkutsk (the Russian Federation) and Miyakonojo (Japan).
At the start of the meeting, Deputy Governor Sh.Ankhmaa said, “Receiving 37 representatives of three cities of three different countries at once and organizing a large-scale event creates not only the opportunity to promote the history, culture and traditions of Mongolia, but also for children who have different languages and cultures to become acquainted with our country, and become friends with each other, learning about each other’s culture and heritage. A large part of this year’s programme involves Mongolian culture and heritage--the three games of men, traditional cuisine, and performances of traditional arts. We will continue to further develop our student exchange programme organized in partnership with the cities that established friendship ties with Ulaanbaatar.”
As accordingly, students of Ulaanbaatar will also be visiting Hohhot, Irkutsk and Miyakonojo in August.
