Celebration fo Child Protection Day in Astana

Astana, June 02, 2009 (Khabar) - The first day of summer with its fun celebration events will stay in the memories of smaller city residents and guests of the capital. Theatrical performances, concerts, excursions, various games, contests and presents were organized for children at each and every concert stage and park of Astana on Child Protection Day. Also a new “Umit” mini-centre for special needs children has opened in the capital city. There are all necessary conditions created for them at the centre, such as a playground, a room of sensory and psychological relaxation, a mini-gym and even a kitchen.

Raushan Kaldybekova, Astana city resident:
- We have an opportunity of raising our children with the state’s assistance. We feel that we’re not alone and are experiencing the support of the state, for example, people receive housing if they don’t have any. We have a flat as our second home so we can spend our entire free time here.

Children from the Akkol orphanage have also felt new and happy impressions as they had a chance to look at exhibits at the museum of the first president on the initiative of the Association of “Bolashak” scholarship holders which took this institution under its patronage 6 months ago.

Sergey Kargin, pupil of Akkol orphanage № 1:
- The president’s awards which are possessed by only three presidents in the world stuck in my memory the most. The president was a Grade A student and aimed high as a worker.

Young dancers, singers, athletes and painters also have demonstrated their talents.
