Chaharmahal-Bakhtiari cultural festival underway at Tehran center

TEHRAN,Sept.17(MNA) -- Tehran’s Niavaran Cultural Center is currently playing host to the Chaharmahal-Bakhtiari Province art and cultural festival, which opened on Saturday. A group of provincial artists are presenting various forms of arts common in their region to the visitors during the five-day festival, Persian news agencies reported on Sunday. Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance Mohammad Hosseini, and provincial cultural officials attended the opening ceremony, in which several art and cultural figures of the province were also honored. Over 200 works of visual arts have been put on show at different galleries of the center, while a series of pavilions offering traditional handicrafts and costumes have been set up in the courtyard of the center. In addition, performances of regional music and ritual plays have been arranged on the side section of the program. The green, mountainous and wildly scenic province is located in the southwestern part of the country.
