Cheap goods fair organised
BANGKOK, December 21 (TNA) - The Ministry of Commerce has organised a three-day goods sales in a bid to spur the Thai economy and to help consumers save their money ahead of the upcoming New Year’s five-holiday period.
Caretaker Deputy Commerce Minister Yanyong Phuangrach told reporters of the the three-day goods sales fair, set from December 20-22, 2013, which is held at the IMPACT Trade and Exhibition Centre in Muang Thong Thani on the outskirts of Bangkok, during which prices of necessary commodities reduced by 20-40 per cent than their market prices.
Yanyong said consumer products made by small and medium-sized enterprises, One Tambon One Product (OTOP) producers and his ministry-sponsored ‘Blue Flag’ are also available during the event.
The caretaker deputy commerce minister projected that the event should draw more than 200,000 buyers and about 200 million baht should be changed hands, while manufacturers should also save costs of over 100 million baht.
The caretaker deputy commerce minister expressed his confidence that the Thai economy would improve next year. (TNA)
